About Us

Project BonaFide Hearts was started by a few like minded working adults who hope to make a difference and hopefully inspire more people to do the same. Our successful projects are the results of many people in different walks of life contributing their time, money, passion and love. We have toddlers, students, grandma, housewives, single moms, working professionals, business owners all sharing in their own special way. Project BonaFide Hearts believes in reaping what we sow, we do not accept monetary donation. Check out our Facebook Page for the projects we have embarked upon since our inception! http://www.facebook.com/BonaFideHearts

Event Report for ECP Weekend - June 2012

We concluded our 6-day ECP Food & Family Fun event last June with aching backs, sore feet and happy hearts.

Business was good, particularly on the weekends. Our tau-huay was a sell-out on all the weekends and customers sang praises of it being the best they have ever tasted. Our customers love our corn-in-a-cup too! Our brightly-coloured afro-wigs and sexy sunglasses frame were very popular among the young couples. In fact, two weeks after our event, we spotted our customers wearing it to mega-events like the Harry Potter Exhibition at the Marina Bay Sands and the annual Pink Dot event at Hong Lim Park!

On top of bringing joy to our customers, we over-exceeded our sales target and raised a whopping $5,225.95 for Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped. We have been invited to their upcoming event on Oct 13 (International White Cane Day) to raise more funds, watch this space for this upcoming event!

Letter of Appreciation from our supported Charity

Here are some snapshots of our event, more pictures are available on our Facebook Page - http://www.facebook.com/bonafidehearts

Happy Faces of our Volunteers

We want to first thank our volunteers whom selflessly gave their time and energy to support our booth. Without your exuberant passion and energy, deft hands and generous souls, we will not have pulled off this huge event.

In no order of importance nor preference, these are the behind-the-scene heroes & heroines whom we want to thank:
  • NParks for approving our booth application and giving us a chance to be there to execute our work for charity :)
  • Marcus our portrait artist, Josephine & daughters our balloon artist - for sharing with us your precious talents
  • Veron, Jenny, Muichin, Lisar - for supporting the food sales, it is a definitely back-breaking affair to be standing for 12-hours straight!
  • Carmen, Neejuan, Lili & husband, Cindy, Coco, Li-n, Jenny's children - for supporting the stall set-up, merchandise sales and bringing your friends to volunteer
  • Shawn for making the heavy deliveries behind the scene to help us set up the booth
  • Wing Kong, Yeow Peow, Felix  and Henry for keeping all our tummies filled with yummy food they "tapao-ed" specially for us all
  • ...and finally ....Mr & Mrs Wang for sponsoring all the running costs and merchandise inventory for our event, that's how we can give 100% of our sales proceeds to SAVH :))
There are a few more beloved volunteers that I have yet to thank on this short list. I apologise that I do not know all of your names ... but I definitely do recognise your faces!! I also want to do a final shout out here to you guys here - Thank You, Thank YOu & Thank YOU :))

Happy Faces of our Customers

We want to next thank our customers! For being so sporting, so fun, so supportive and so encouraging!!! In particular, we have a few really special customers whom we want to thank:
  • Ms Amy Yap our super agent whom brought her friends Mr Liu, Mr & Mrs Goh. Mrs Goh has kindly offered to sponsor all our future printing needs!
  • Ms Lillian Wong whom supported us through 5 of Marcus paintings ($150)
  • Ms Chong whom whipped up 20 of our fold-able stools ($198)
  • Mr X whom came by in his wheel chair every night to buy many of our merchandises and expressed his genuine concern over how much we are able to make by selling our items so cheaply
  • The Singapore-Idol of Tomorrow whom came by on our last night and entertained us with his crooning of the latest hits in town!

Our Generous Sponsors

We also had the privilege of being item-sponsored by the following kind organisations in the midst of our event:

A good old friend Lucas secretly requested Balloon Baron Specialties (www.balloonbaron.com.sg) to support our project. Ms. Annie Kwan generously sponsored 3 bags of balloons for our project! :)

Benjamin, who was first our customer and then became our sponsor, from Ray of Light Events & Production Services (https://www.facebook.com/RayOfLight.Singapore) designed and made for us these awesome identity badges for our volunteers.

Red Bull, who was also first our customer and then became our sponsor, gave us many cans of Red Bull to keep us flying through the whole weekend! Red Bull really gave us wings!

The conclusion of this ECP event had left many members of Project BonaFide Hearts Team feeling empowered and capable of doing more to give more in their lives. This, I believe, is our greatest personal gift thus far.

Thank you for joining us in this journey!

Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility
to give something back by becoming more.
